International Journal of Language & Law (JLL)

International Journal of Language & Law (JLL)

The open-access journal Language & Law (JLL) was established by Dieter Stein (Düsseldorf, Germany) in 2012. Along with the refoundation of the International Language and Law Association (ILLA) in 2017, Friedemann Vogel and Hanjo Hamann have transferred JLL to OJS and, as the new editors-in-chief, have restructured the journal and the editorial board.

The journal focuses on the interdependent role of language in law and society in its various facets. This especially includes the theory of law and language, translation and intercultural issues, legal interpretation, law and literature, forensic linguistics, language in the courtroom, and computational aspects.

Furthermore, JLL contributes to an upcoming open access policy, offering advantages in global reach, long-term archiving, citability through Digital Object Identifier (DOI), certified registration in national databases and catalogues, support for multimedia components, and a professional publication system.

Quality control is ensured through a blind peer-review process.
